Preparing a Polished Bronze Incense Burner for Lunar New Year: Essential Cleaning Tips
1Cleaning Bronze Objects
Step 1: Start by removing dry wax stains and any remaining dirt on the base and body of the bronze incense burner or copper object. Blow on the dry wax stains to soften them and then wipe them clean with a cloth.
Step 2: Use cigarette paper or sawdust mixed with a little salt to polish the bronze objects. Dip a cloth in the mixture and rub it onto the bronze objects to make them shiny. Alternatively, use stove ash with a little water to achieve the same effect.
To remove green rust stains on the body of bronze objects, mix lemon juice with salt and wipe the stained area with a cloth.
Step 3: Apply honey to the already shiny bronze objects and then wipe it off with a soft cloth. For long-lasting brightness, brush the entire surface of the bronze objects with cassava flour and wipe off the excess flour.
Another way to clean and shine bronze objects is by dipping a cloth in vinegar or lemon juice and wiping them. Rinse with warm water and the bronze objects will regain their shine.
2Cleaning Other Objects Inside the House
Glass Bottles and Jars
To clean glass bottles and jars, put a little sand or crushed eggshells inside, shake vigorously, or use a brush to scrub all sides. Rinse with clean water to make the bottles and jars shiny and brand new.
Teapot, Cups, and Bowls with Yellow Stains
To clean teapots, cups, and bowls with yellow stains, use stove ash mixed with water. Wipe the mixture onto the stained areas with a soft cloth to remove the yellow stains immediately.
Tiles with Yellow Stains
If there are yellow stains on the tiles in your house, wash them with soap and a cloth. Then, sprinkle a little salt on the surface of the tiles. Pour hot vinegar water onto the tiles and let it sit for a few minutes. Wipe with a cloth to remove all the stains.
Moss Sticking to the Tile Surface
To remove moss sticking to the tile surface, mix lime with water to create a thick solution. Sweep this solution onto the areas with moss using a broom. Leave it overnight and then use a brush to clean off the moss.
Glass Bulbs with Soot
Cleaning light bulbs in the kitchen that are covered in black soot can be difficult. Try wiping the light bulbs with a cloth soaked in hot vinegar to remove the soot. Alternatively, apply a little lime water on the light bulbs, let it dry, and then wipe with a cloth to clean them.
Glass Doors and Dirty Mirrors
Cleaning mirrors and glass is easy. Cut potatoes into thick slices and rub them on the glass or mirror surface. Use crushed newspaper to wipe off the residue and make the glass doors and mirrors shiny and new.
